Wood County Authorities Investigate Armed Robbery

Blenker, Wi (WSAU) The Wood County Sheriff's Department continues to search for an unknown suspect in the armed robbery of the Swetz Country Corner Mart on Highway 10 on Thursday night. The robbery happened around 8:55 and the female clerk gave the man an undisclosed amount of money. The man was carrying what appeared to be a bolt-action type rifle and surveillance cameras show he escaped in a light-clored SUV. The man reportedly had a hood over his face.

The owner of the store says it's the first time they have ever been robbed since the store opened in 1991. No one was injured and the store reopened on Friday. If you have any information about this robbery you are urged to call The Wood County Sheriff's Department.
