Unemployment.
UNDATED (WSAU) Wisconsin's unemployment rate was up slightly in January. Experts were hoping the numbers would keep coming down as a modest economic recovery takes hold. Instead, joblessness was up from 8-point-5 to 8-point-7 percent.
Wisconsin is below the national unemployment rate at 9-point-7 percent.
There were employment gains in manufacturing, administrative services, and health care.
Still the unemployment rate is one-percentage-point higher than a year ago, and the state has 113-thousand fewer jobs than this time last year.
