UNDATED (WSAU) The D-N-R holds two hearings today on Wisconsin's deer population and last season's deer hunt.
One meeting will be in Wausau from 5 to 7pm at John Muir Middle School. A second meeting will be in Stevens Point from 6 to 8pm at the Portage County Courthouse annex.
The D-N-R will discuss plans for a more accurate count of the state's deer, and plans to control chronic wasting disease.
Many hunters have complained about disappointing gun deer seasons for the last two years. In 2009, the number of deer taken was down 28-percent.
