Wausau, Wi (WSAU) After two consecutive losses where Woodchuck pitchers walked in the winning run, the offense said enough and put enough runs on the board to salt it away as the Chucks beat Battle Creek 8-2 Friday night at Athletic Park. Chris Licon pitched the win going 7 and two-thirds and allowing just 2 runs on five hits and striking out 4.

Jamie Bruno was 3 for 4 with two RBIs and Travis Whitmore had a two-run homer. The Chucks are in second place in the Southern Division but in first place for the final playoff spot. There are 16 games remaining and the team faces Battle Creek again today and Sunday at Athletic Park.
