Wausau school board and teachers to head back to bargaining table

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) – Wausau's school board and the teacher's union will be heading back to the bargaining table to settle a labor dispute.
The school board reviewed a plan from a state mediator assigned to the case at a board meeting at Thomas Jefferson Elementary tonight, and according to counsel Dean Dietrich neither side was happy with that proposal. The mediator's recommendations are non-binding, so the board and the union will head back to rework agreements.
Dietrich says the board would like to have this handled sooner rather than later and that both sides will get back together within a week to renegotiate.
